Building A Metrosexual Wardrobe

Whether you're just getting into style or trying to upgrade your look, there are certain items that todays metro hip man needs in his style arsenal. First up are good shoes. Shoes form the foundation of any wardrobe so its important that you get it right by having a balanced collection which would include a number of formal & casual shoes.
After footwear we're gonna need ideal bottom coordinates. You got to have at least a pair of stone khaki's in your wardrobe. They are very versatile and ideal for all seasons. Notice the silhouette guys, if your looking to make a statement get skinny fit or slim pants. If your over stuffing yourself this holiday, hit the treadmill as soon as the festivities are over :o]
You also need a good number of denim pants centered around light blue, dark blue and black. Slim or skinny fit too. It's cool to buy some with longer lengths so you can peg them.
If you're building up your casual shirts collection, stick to solids and avoid print tees as they tend to go out of style fast while polo's roundnecks and v-necks are classics that never go out of style.
No man can ever have to many white shirts, and if your starting to build a wardrobe they are the first you should invest in. After which you can get black and also a bit of plaid. Slim fit shirts people and Micro collared ones look more elegant and dressy.
Blazers are de riguer for all men. they make you look elegant with very little effort. The first colors to invest in are usually black and navy after which grey follows traditionally. Skinny fit does it here too, the most important thing about a blazer is how it fits the wearer.
Your also gonna need a couple of knits. Cardigans are good investments as well as crew necks which are timeless. A couple of v neck's would do too.
Finally, accessories complete an outfit and help to portray the wearer's style and persona more. You can give a couple of people the same kinds of accessories and they all end up using them in different ways. That's the personal touch accessories provide.

Topman Bretton Shorts

I'm diggin these Bretton Shorts from Topman. They have track pants/joggers feel cos they are fastened by a rope at the waist. They are cool for anyone living in the tropics or people who hope to escape for a few days to the tropics. Better still you can save em for spring :o]

Adidas x Jeremy Scott Spring 2010 Jacket

I'm a big fan of Adidas Originals and their collaboration with Kansas born American designer Jeremy Scott now in its second season continues to impress me. Love the futuristic look as well the embellishment on this baseball jacket, its du jour.

Q&A: Blank Label

I had the rare opportunity to speak with the creative s behind online custom shirt makers Blank Label about their influential and growing label known for it's quality and customer service.

What led to the creation of Blank Label?

Blank Label was created out of spite for the mass-product retail industry. We wanted to create a product that was individually made by our consumer, because wearing something that every other guy bought from H&M wasn't appealing to us. So we decided to create custom dress shirts, and with our custom dress shirt application, individuals are empowered to design their own product. That's something we wish we had, and because no one could provide that for us, we decided to go out and do it ourselves! and we made it affordable. All of our shirts start at $45.

Blank label has a direct relationship with the final consumer since it performs the retail functions. How has this been helpful to business decision making?

Of course! Being able to connect directly with our customers gives us valuable feedback on how we can improve our product and service. That's the only way we can fully satisfy them. Giving them what they want and hearing it from their mouths is more efficient than us trying to guess what they want and testing it.

How long does it take for an order to be ready?

Our turnaround time is 3 weeks from order placement to your door. 4 weeks if you're not US domestic.

Do you guys plan to branch into Suits and Shoes or is Blank Label all about shirts?

We don't have any immediate plans to do either of these things, but they're in the idea bucket. Perhaps that's something to look into 6-12 months down the road. Right now we're just gunning real hard to nail down dress shirts.

5-10yrs down the road, where would you like Blank Label to be in terms of revenue & brand awareness?

That's a big question. As for revenue, who knows! But for brand awareness, we want to be the brand that empowers you to design your own product. We don't really want to be a brand though, but more of a platform that allows consumers to be their own designers.

P.S: Blank Label is offering readers 10% off their next purchase before 12/31/09 with the following promocode "terencesambo."

The Burberry London ss 2010 collection is elegant casual expression of the Burberry man, stylish and confident in his own right and is centered around the Burberry check and denim.

Charles Georges A/W09 Tie Collection

Charles Georges is a new accessory brand for men that was created on the Swiss side of lake Léman in Lausanne. The label has opted to focus initially on the creation of a tie collection. Attractive bow-ties and scarves in silk and cashmere will also be available as of this autumn

"The Gentleman Explorer" Olexa Casonova A/W 09

This collection was inspired by the first arctic explorers. Burberry Brit Men's Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

H&M Men's Spring/Summer 2010

H&M's men's spring/summer 2010 collection had the structure of Raf Simons, Damir Doma-ish cuts and Henrik Vibskov type of playful aesthetic. The skirt and harem pants were a bit of a shock coming from them , but with the likes of Givenchy & Rick Owens throwing skirts its no surprise H&M is offering them.
